One-day Retirement Planning Seminar for New Federal Employees: An overview of Federal benefits for new employees and an introduction to financial planning emphasize the importance of early participation in TSP. Two-day Mid-Career Retirement Planning Seminar for CSRS or FERS Employees: Employees 10 to 20 years from retirement may attend a mid-career seminar to better understand their Federal benefits and identify financial goals and objectives. A detailed discussion of Federal Retirement Benefits, Insurance Programs, Thrift Savings Plan, and Social Security Benefits is conducted by a Federal Benefits Specialist. A Financial Planner encourages participants to develop a financial plan and provides guidance for investing in the TSP and preparing for retirement. A lecture on lifetime health and fitness emphasizes the importance of taking an active role in physical well being during career and retirement. Three-day Retirement Planning Seminar for CSRS or FERS Employees: CSRS or FERS employees within 10 years of retirement may choose this three-day comprehensive seminar to help make decisions regarding Federal benefits and plan for the retirement years. In addition to the topics described above for mid-career employees, this seminar will also include presentations on estate planning and the psychological transition into retirement.
